After studying Acting and Opera, she explored Jazz, Brazilian music, Arabic music, Congolese Rumba, Afro-Beat, and West and South African music.

Through these varied musical styles, she developed her singing experience, touring the globe as a backup vocalist. Freeda Lou has performed and collaborated with jazz bands and musicians including Sam Mangwana, Rido Bayonne, Emile Parisien, Guy Nsangue, and Tom Di Carlo.

Most recently, her artistic endeavors moved to film, working with director Kerstin Ebert and painting/sculpting.

She lives in New York City and continues performing live and collaborating with other artists.
